Our purpose

Many calorie calculators return a precise-looking result while hiding the formula, activity multiplier, or safety rules. Calorie Method is designed to show those decisions. It gives adults a starting estimate and a method for testing it against a longer-term trend.

The site does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, create individualized medical nutrition therapy, or replace a qualified professional. Its usefulness depends on understanding that prediction equations can be wrong for an individual.

Editorial principles

Transparency over authority theater

We publish formulas, product heuristics, uncertainty choices, exclusions, and known limitations. A source is linked when a factual health claim depends on it.

Original usefulness over word count

Pages are created to answer distinct user questions. We do not publish copied food tables, automatically generated location pages, or near-duplicate articles merely to increase page count.

Calibrated language

We distinguish an estimate, heuristic, recommendation from an authority, and established fact. We avoid guaranteed outcomes, exact goal dates, “metabolic confusion,” and other claims stronger than the available evidence.

Privacy by default

The calculator runs in the browser. Optional saved plans remain in browser storage. Health-related field values should never be included in analytics events or transmitted to advertising providers.

Sources and review

We prefer primary research, government health agencies, and recognized professional guidance. A source being linked does not mean every statement on its website has been adopted. Review dates describe when a page was checked; they do not guarantee that every external source remains unchanged.

Current review status: The calculation implementation and content were last reviewed internally on August 15, 2026. Registered-dietitian review is recommended before the site is marketed as a production health resource.

Advertising policy

Calorie Method may use advertising to support free access. Advertising will be visually labeled and separated from navigation, forms, results, download-style actions, and editorial recommendations. Payment from an advertiser will not determine formulas or conclusions.

Sponsored content, if ever introduced, must be labeled at the beginning of the page and cannot be presented as independent editorial review. The site will not encourage ad clicks or arrange advertisements to resemble controls.

Corrections

A correction should update the affected article, its review date, and—when calculation behavior changes—the methodology page in the same release. Material corrections should include a short note describing what changed. Before launch, replace this paragraph with a monitored contact address or correction form.

Ownership information required before launch

This project currently lacks a public legal publisher name, postal jurisdiction, contact email, named editor, and qualified nutrition reviewer. Those details should be added before AdSense review or broad public promotion; invented credentials or placeholder biographies must not be published.

For calculation details, read the methodology. For data and future advertising disclosures, read privacy and advertising.
